VGMA 2019:Mary Ghansah and Prof. Kofi Abraham honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

Veteran Gospel musicians, Rev. Mrs. Mary Ghansah and Prof. Kofi Abraham have been
honored as the 20th VGMA Lifetime Achievement Award laureates
The three musicians have contributed to the gospel and high-life music industry for over four decades and counting.

Rev. Mary Ghansah an ordained Minister a renowned gospel singer, a prolific songwriter and a worship leader who has written some of the many songs that we sing in our churches today both in Ghana and the world over. She has close to 20 albums to her credit in a career spanning over 40 years.

Professor Kofi Abraham: The great composer, songwriter, and performer is known in real life as Abraham Kofi Boakye. His contribution to gospel music goes back to the 1970s and the  role he played in the music industry opened the doors to the growth of gospel music in the country. Kofi Abraham, who was given the title ‘Professor’ at Koforidua by a member of the Late President Hilla Liman’s administration, was the head of the True Gospel Band and the Ashanti Regional Music Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).
