THE FATHER’S GIFT: KOFI OWUSU PEPRAH AND HIS FATHER CREATES REMARKABLE MEMORY AT KUMASI EDITION
It was a historical night of worship at Grace Baptist Church Kumasi as worshippers gathered and filled up the venue for “The Father’s Gift” – a worship event headlined by Kofi Owusu Peprah. The event held on Sunday, 16th October 2022, has created a remarkable memory and stirred up revival in the hearts of thousands in Kumasi.
Kofi Owusu Peprah has garnered love from the general public and gospel music lovers for his ministry mainly through his live ministrations especially after the release of a cover of His Dad Legendary Rev George Owusu Mensah song ‘Matwen Awurade Anim’ to mark his 60th Birthday in 2020 and to appreciate him for being a channel through which God used in his days to minister unto the Christendom. A song which has traveled through generations and blessed many.
Rev. George Owusu of the Grace Baptist Church, Kumasi composed the song in the year 1987. He is believed to be one of the cornerstones of the gospel music fraternity in Ghana.
Kofi on the 22nd of May, 2022 held a concert in honour of his father at the National Theater, Accra Ghana dubbed ‘The Father’s Gift’ concert. People from different parts of the capital trouped in to witness the amazing legacy God has led through the Rev. George and his generation.
The Accra edition was a great success but the Kumasi edition was historical as the event was Kofi’s first ever solo musical concert in his home city, Kumasi. The artist was in his element, treating patrons to spirit-filled gospel songs from the old to the new. Kofi invited his father to perform alongside him.
The two of them thrilled the audience with their spirit filled spectacular ministration. It was an incredible moment seeing the bond they have as Father and Son on the same stage.
Joojo Arhin, Sammie Obeng Poku and Lordina The Soprano were the main guest ministers. It was a night full of worship, Praise and endless dancing.
Kofi Owusu Peprah also launched The Father’s Gift album earlier this year which is available on all digital music spaces.
