Dante Bowe, Tauren Wells, Maverick City Music are leading the shortlist for this year’s Grammy Awards 22 for christian nominees.
The Recording Academy announced its latest Grammy Awards nominations and Dante Bowe, a member of the Bethel Music collective and the Maverick City Music collective, received five nominations, while Maverick City Music also received five.
The Multi-platinum-selling gospel artiste and award-winning songwriter Dante Bowe is closing out a record year with two GRAMMY Award nominations. He is up for Best Gospel Performance/Song for “Voice of God” as well as “joyful,” the lead single from his critically acclaimed album, circles. Dante is also nominated for Best Gospel Performance/Song with Elevation Worship & Maverick City Music for “Wait On You”, Best Gospel Album with Maverick City Music for Jubilee: Juneteenth Edition, and Best Contemporary Christian Music Album with Elevation Worship & Maverick City Music for Old Church Basement. The 64th GRAMMY Awards will air live on January 31, 2022 at 8 pm EST/5 pm PST on CBS and Paramount+.
Speaking on his nominations he said “Honestly I just credit God and the support of my friends and family for the music and the quality of the music I’m able to make,” shares Dante. “They’re the motivation and, mostly, it’s their stories and my stories combined that I’m singing about. I’m just grateful.”
Earlier this year, The sensational gospel artiste Dante Bowe released his sophomore album and Bethel Music label debut, circles. The incredibly personal album quickly shot to the top of the charts, debuting at No. 7 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums Chart. The lead single, ‘joyful,’ reached No. 2 on the Billboard Gospel Digital Song Sales Chart and No. 3 on the Hot Gospel Songs Chart, making it the highest solo charting position of his career.
