Biography Of contemporary Gospel Spoken Word Artist Christian Odist

Agbofa Kwabena Christian Odist, born in Old Tafo in the Eastern Region, but hails from Ave-Havi in the Volta region, Ghana, the West of Africa.  He had the name Odist due to his niche as an ode composer in the Poetry/Spoken Word fraternity. Christian Odist is a Ghanaian Social and Gospel Spoken word artist who is known for his ardent rhymes that emit from his works as a poet and a spoken word artist.  He is a graduate from the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) with a Degree in Public Relations and Advertising.

Christian Odist recognized his passion for poetry during his cross-cultural exchange program in Canada, in the year 2014, when he performed to 18 people, who happens to be his own team mates on the program. This brought a whole lot of feedbacks from his own colleagues on the need for him to push this part of him. 

Christian started writing and performing professionally in 2015 in his Church, Grace Commuinity Baptist Church, which got him linked up with many churches and other event platforms. In 2018, he was appointed National Road Safety Advocate after he did his first project entitled ‘ANGELS OF THE ROAD’,  a piece designed to champion road safety campaign and he has performed in many  Churches and other events grounds, across the country. Notwithstanding, he has been nominated twice at the GIJ eminence awards as the poet of the year in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

Christian owns pieces such as Angels of the Road, Offering, Grace to Run the Race,The Handsome Birth, Letter to my Mother etc. He is not only a poet, but the CEO of De’Anima Empire, a multi-demensional creative art company established in  2018, which  undertakes services such as Poetry writing and performance, script writing, Filming, Advert Composition, music video/movie shooting and editing, content creation and  jingle making etc.

Christian believes that,the pen and words  has the power to change perception, influence lives and encourage generations and he solemnly operates with this philosophy as a Gospel and Social Spoken Word Artist.
